I just put a bid on a 1969 SS427 sport coupe. It is the first model cast as a sport coupe body. Wish Me luck on getting it. I already have a 1969 convertible. Probably get it for $150.00.NICK L72427impalasportcoupe

Kinda cool Nick. Sure wish I knew what width and offset wheel was on the back of that model,,, then convert to real world dimensions. I have the correct 6 inch rally's, center caps and 4 clip trim rings on mine, but really hoping to put 8.5 inch 309 "original" torque thrust D's on the back. Afraid the only ones available wont fit.

Sluggo, et al. -
OK...my turn to 'react' to the Mecum stuff...namely the '68 red Super Sport/SS427 convertible. (I have a modified '68 Z24 Sport Coupe).
- no Caprice taillights (ok...some Z24's came w/o them) - no smog pump (assuming the 4-spd is correct) - deck lid fit (along lip) - hood fit (along upper valance) - left door/trim alignment - top cover does not "lay" nicely - dash discrepancies -battery gauge needle not centered - temp gauge needle too high for "off" engine - clock not working - tach from small block (modified); not at zero - lower ID trim not black (w/raise letters) - WSW switch should be horizontal when off
Missing options...you would think a Z03/Z24 convertible would have some if not all of these additions: - PW - power seat - disc brakes - running lights - front & rear bumper guards - posi & F41 (perhaps it does) - concealed HL (not just Caprice) - AC (if not w/L72) - other stuff, too
Maybe I'm being too picky. But at $93,500!?

I am glad that 1969 Impala brought $66,000.00. It is not an SS427 according to the window sticker and build sheet. It was missing the Bow tie on the grille and the headlight doors were painted black. Flat quarter panels and some other issues, like rust on the fire wall by the wiper. Not sure what was not fixed on the body. NICK L72427impalasportcoupe
