Looking for a correct nose cone only for a 1968 427 4 speed starter motor... I found one site that has new ones for sale, but they won't ship OS... Anyone know any other companies I can try that sell these... Or is there anyone that has a used one they would sell... Thank You... Glenn

I now have two of these they are in very good condition, I do not want to ship both back here as I only need one. So if anyone wants one I will post it to you for the cost of postage only... Cheers Glenn

Glenn,
I finally had to replace my starter on my '68 Z24 (4-spd) about two years ago. I think, under the circumstances, you should consider exchanging the whole starter rather than "piecemealing" it. It should be available 'down there' and would probably be cheaper (from a auto store) than looking for a "nose cone" elsewhere. I wasn't aware that a 4-speed unit would be different than for an automatic.
Hi Bill, I prefer to keep my car all original where I can, that’s why I’m after a cast iron nose cone as mine has a small crack in it and I wish to replace it before it possibly lets go. Also my understanding on nose cones is ...... A 4 speed manual/168 teeth flywheel requires a staggered bolt pattern cast iron nose cone, this cast iron starter will also fit an auto. However a starter motor with an aluminium nose cone/staggered bolt pattern will only suit autos, will not fit 4speed…. Cheers Glenn ps As for it being available down here, please take my word for it we do not have the same luxury you guys have when it comes to auto parts stores stocking anything much at all/nothing for 50's 60's etc American vehicles...
