My Impala's front sway bar measures 1" (25mm) and the bushes are completely shot ... There are plenty of them about for other cars (that may fit) but can anyone steer me in the direction of a set of quality bushings that they have used that will definitely fit my original brackets and 1" bar ... I've already sent two sets of chinese junk ones back ... Thank You
Need to "clear the air" about the front sway bar...at least on my '68 Impala. I think I'm correct in stating that the 'regular' bar is 7/8" in diameter; the HD bar (on my Z24) is 15/16" in diameter. I wasn't aware of a 1" bar. But I await any comments since I could be wrong...my point is that 1" bushing could be too big??
You're right Bill, I didn't take a lot of care the first time I measured it, didn't clean off the gunk the best. I always use MOOG, however they do not make this size rubber bushing, the only one I can find from them is THERMOPLASTIC. I'm reluctant to use them in case they squeak. Anyone here used THERMOPLASTIC before and can attest to their suitability ... Thanks Glenn
I have had 10 sets of these bushes made in rubber ... They have the split in the side and the locating ridge in the top same as the original bushes ... I only have three sets left and If anyone wants a set I can send them over for $35.00 USD plus postage ... Cheers Glenn UPDATE ... These have all sold ... However I will more than likely have more made, so anyone interested let me know ... Thank You
Tom the remaining bushes are sold ... There are other people that missed-out and would like a set also, so when I get a chance I will have Owen make another couple of sets ... I'll get back to when that happens ... Thank You
