In fact, how many people have led the Indy 500 and won the pole at Daytona? I think it is just Danica and A.J. Foyt.

While Danica is not equal to the hype (who could be?), she is not a bad driver. If I were looking to put a driver in a one-off for the Indy 500 I'd put her in the car before lots of other drivers - she delivers sponsors and she has finished 4th, 8th, 8th, 22nd, 3rd, 6th and 10th in her 7 500s. (the 23rd came when Ryan Briscoe spun his rear end into Patrick in the pits - that happened right in front of me) Throw out the Briscoe wreck year and her average finish is 6.5. That's solid. It's better than Tony Kanaan's average if you give him a mulligan and throw out his worst finish and Tony Kanaan is one of the best there is.
