Congrats on passing the stone, but I bet that was brutal. A mixed blessing. hey, its over, but GEEZ did that hurt!
Friday, I had a bit of a medical adventure myself. My cardiac arrhythmia decided to go apeshit and I woke up out of breath from atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response. It can be lethal. After calling the cardiac doc, they told me to get my ass to the ER and I did. That hung a bag of Cardizem to slow my heart and then they used defibrillator pads to shock my heart. It worked fortunately. I am back within a somewhat more normal sinus rhythm. But the shocks burned my chest and back where the pads were stuck. That's the 3rd time I have been defibrillated and it never gets any easier. It probably won't be my last either. This heart problem isn't going away. But I can live with it. Don't have much choice. And nobody asked my opinion.
I have come to the conclusion that its far better to be the nurse than the patient. Hospitals are scary from the bed looking up.
