True about today but as a general rule, I just don't think GWC should be the rule. You win some and you lose some and today TK was the one. I hope they never change that rule. As far as I know it is a NASCAR invention designed to artificially create last lap excitement. Every racing series does NOT have to do likewise and I hope Indycar never does.
