The "Antique Roadshow" is coming to Detroit tomorrow, and there were only two ways to get tickets. You could donate $500 to Detroit's local PBS Station for a pair, or you could enter your E-mail address into a drawing where they gave away a limited amount of tickets. I know so many people that entered their E-mail address into the drawing, and I am the only person I know who's E-mail was selected for a free pair of tickets. We actually have an old oil painting in our family from the early 20th Century, and about 30 years ago I had an aunt get it appraised, and it was appraised at $30,000.00, but a few years ago I had another relative decide to get it appraised for insurance purposes, and this time the art appraiser appraised it at $4,000.00, so I'm taking the oil painting to the "Antique Roadshow" tomorrow. When the painting appraised so low a few years ago my cousin asked if it had to do with the bad economy, and the appraiser that appraised it a few years ago said that oil painting by that artist was never worth $30,000.00 and the appraiser who appraised it 30 years ago obviously didn't know what they were doing. I guess we'll see what they say tomorrow.
