Actually..........
considering the majority of the yellows came near the end of the race I don't think that race went long. The TV time for the race was 5PM to 8:30PM, and it finished with plenty of time left in TV time schedule. The race was a 50 lap race on a 4 mile course, so it was a 200 mile race. I do agree with you about NASCAR not needing to throw that last yellow. I about lost my mind when they through that last yellow. I don't know how you fix it, but I hate that drivers like Max Papis, Regan Smith, etc. had such great runs all day, and like you said everybody looses their mind with 5 laps to go, and these guys that took care of their equipment all day, and had great runs going right up to the last 5 laps end up getting taken out, and getting poor finishes and even DNFs. The kid I feel sorry for is Canadian road course ringer Andrew Ranger (who spent a year or two in CART). That kid can drive a car on the road course with the best of them, but he always ends up with a low budget team at these Nationwide road course races, and usually ends up breaking down before the race is over. Without looking it up I think he has a road course win in ARCA at New Jersey Motorsport Park. I'd love to see Andrew at a Nationwide road course race in JR Motorsports, Hendrick, Roush, Penske, etc. car. Great to see A.J. get that win, and great to see Roger Penske stick by the guy after the problems he had last year. On a side note did you see the INDY race tomorrow from Iowa is on ABC at 2PM not NBC Sports.
