late '70s/early '80s, you could get a case, in returnable bottle, at the local stores of this deplorable stuff called RHINELANDER, for 4.98, which is........(jon hasta reach for a calculater) about .21 cents a beer, JUST RIGHT for that 2nd or 3rd apartment budget........ .......popular counter-culture comedy album right out of high school was Fireside theatre, and they had a beer commercial on there, probably taking a stab at Hamms (or ANYBODY who exploited "outdoors-ee" stuff in their commercials) for a product called BEAR-WIZZ BEER, and the announcer would say, "its in the water..........thats why its yella!" so when I saw your "water" comment, yea, pretty much cracking up.........OMG, cannot believe its on youtube, the label looks like an Olympia label, which we did our level-best to keep in business in 77, 78! |
