Once that dirt gets packed down it starts taking on rubber, just like asphalt, and it starts to resemble racing on asphalt more than dirt, but before qualifying tomorrow they'll grade the dirt back up, and after qualifying before the race they'll grade the dirt back up again just like at a horse track between races.
Schrader's advice to the guys not used to racing on dirt is if you get much closer than 3 feet from the wall you'll get in the cushion (loose dirt) and it will suck you right into the wall. I think Jeb Burton figured that out the hard way during practice.
