If you're doing a tape delayed broadcast of a race, and there's a 5 or 6 car pile up that dumps a ton of fluid on the track that takes forever to clean up, and a driver gets hurt and it takes forever to get him out of the car, and the caution period lasts for 25 laps, you could probably edit the majority of those laps out of your tape delayed broadcast, and nobody would mind.
