That's now how it works. Most sponsors allow a team to take 10 to 30 precent of there money for use as organizational infrastructure. That money pays for the race shop and shop equipment. The other 70 to 90 precent goes only to support the sponsored car. The sponsor will normally receive a bill which will outline where their money was spent. A lot of things have to be bought with that money, crews have to be paid, uniforms have to be bought, the hauler has to be wrapped, cars built or bought, engines built or bought. Sponsors don't want to pay for another sponsors bills so most contracts have previsions that cover mixing of money. 18 million doesn't go too far today. Payroll alone is probably around 2 to 3 million a year. Take Care.
