The teams have to walk a fine line between maximizing value for the sponsor and their money and projecting a favorable image for their sponsor. The ones paying the bills do not care if you win every race if you're labeled as a cheater because then the sponsor if affiliated with a cheater therefore, the sponsor is a cheater by proxy. I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't start the downfall of MWR. You can't stay open if you can't get sponsors to pay the bills and I can't see new sponsors rushing to throw money at a team currently labeled as a cheater. Of course, many other teams have cheated and gotten caught but this is a bit different. In those cases the cheating team did things to make their car faster. What MWR did was basically use some of their team to throw the race. As we know from the 1919 Chicago White Sox and the "Black Sox" scandal, no one wants to be associated with anyone that is willing to throw the game.
