I have to kinda agree with what Michael Waltrip said in his interview with Bob Dillner (and it's something that several others have noted) - this crap goes on ALL THE TIME, and it's completely OUT IN THE OPEN most of the time, and NOBODY, especially NA$CAR, Inc. complains. In practically EVERY race, all season long, team mates leading a race will let a fellow "competitor" lead a lap to get the bonus point. Unless NA$CAR is going to go back and review ALL the races from this season and PENALIZE the ENTIRE TEAM organization each time it happened, this nonsense needs to stop. So Gordon needed TWO more points to make the chase instead of Logano (a tie would have gone to Logano, right?) - there were AMPLE opportunities to have gotten those points during the course of the season. I've got no sympathy for Gordon here. It's not like Hendrick Motorsports has clean hands in the racing "ethics" department. Just stop with all the over-analyzing, over-penalizing already. |
