Back when A.J. Allmendinger was named Penske's 3rd car in the 2013 INDY 500 Hornish was asked why A.J. and not him, and Hornish basically said he has no desire to go back to INDY Car, and every time he thinks he might want to go back to INDY Car something happens that changes his mind. I believe when he said that he was talking about his friend Dan Wheldon loosing his life.
