I keep wondering if part of the decline in NA$CAR TV ratings IS JJ's dominance. The only suspense is who else will be in the top 5 or 6 for the inevitable greenwhitechecker, and whether they can pass him. And I think the money available to him makes a big difference, Roush and Penske and Genassi notwithstanding. I suppose the same could have been said at the time for Reechard and Dale Sr when they dominated, but it was a newer sport for Reechard, and a lot of people wanted to see Dale Sr get beat. They also took longer to get their six. Plus, there were "characters" in the past; now the only characters are Shrub and Smoke, and that's sad.
