As far as the Ganassi/Earnhardt deal goes I found an article that basically says Teresa Earnhardt still owns a percentage of the team, but shows no interest what so ever in the day to day operations, and shows no signs of wanting to be involved, and hasn't been to the track in years, and the article made it sound like she never even shows up at the race shop, either. Probably didn't take a whole lot of convincing by Ganassi to get her to drop her name from the team.
As far as the Andretti deal goes Volkswagen is part of the Porsche/Audi/Volkswagen/Bentley empire, and I don't think being associated with them could possibly ever be a bad thing. My wife actually worked at the Audi/Volkswagen North Ameican Headquarters for awhile in Rochester Hills, MI. I still have quite a bit of Audi swag she brought home. Gave a bunch of it away to my cousin's son who bought a new Audi.
