going on behind the scenes in NASCAR this year. The officiating staff was cut at the end of last year. A bunch of long time officials were offered severance packages and most took them. NASCAR is looking at officiating pit road by camera; my only guess is they have been watching too much FIA stuff. Anyway at some point in time it may even get to the point that NASCAR issues calibrated pit guns to tire changers that send info back to race control on how many lugs were hit and how tight they are. It is crazy!!! all the high tech testing of things they are doing right now. It is good for my better half as she is on the tech side anyway, but both of us think it will not be so great for the sport. Add to this the changes that are coming for qualifying and competition and I find it hard to see the road ahead.
