actually surfed the TV listings to see if I get one of these channels the Rolex deal at Daytona is on, one of the engineers from work, (we'll call him 'K') his son , who blew thru college in like a year & a 1/2 (at the risk of being the politically-incorrect sob that I am, K is from India, which means hes brilliant, and so is the kid) has caught on as a research-development-genius for Bosch, and they are at the race in force, so K called me up Friday to let me know the broadcast-times, in the off-chance I'd see his son, whom he is imensely proud of (and should be) Ks son has loved racing from an early age, it seems like "just yesterday" K was telling me how his son, after Dale Senoir passed on, (I guess he'd be around 9 when it happened) arranged all his #3 stuff as a sort of 'defacto-memorial', he was a big fan. The college he blew thru was either Michigan or Michigan State, at one point I had their website, they built cars & would compete in various deals around the country (presumitably against other colleges) last year K was telling me the boy was over in Germany with Bosch, and he got to go tooling around some test-course, in the 180 mph range, trying to evaluate the car..........living the dream, couldn't be happier for him.. .........Chicago Dave, have not forgotton about your play, but just now saw the calender for real, oh Lord, the second is Groundhog Day.......in 1991, Bill Murrey was in town to make the movie, the story of a ridiculous day that keeps repeating, ad-naseum.....and our vaunted city-fathers, who apparently have no sense of irony, throw a celebration every year saluting the movie.........(Tman, remember the Simpsons where they went to the mall for the "salute to Bonanza", it was the only 2 Indians left alive from the series?? yea, kinda like that) Chicago doesn't throw 'Blues Brothers Day', Carnival Cruises doesn't have a "Poseiden-Package", and this town should just get OVER IT, whatever. (they filmed a 'Frosted-Mini-Wheats' commercial here once, how come we don't have "Breakfast-fest"?) so don't be surprised if theres a bunch of goofs walking around in groundhog-masks or the like........
