I can't say I'm a fan of the tool, and for most of his NASCAR career I've just flat out disliked the guy. I think probably one of the highlights of his career for me, was when Jimmie Spencer's fist got whacked by Busch's face. I have noted though that there seems to be a somewhat dramatic turn-around in his behavior since his divorce and when he hooked-up with his new girlfriend, Patricia Driscoll. She is the President of the Armed Forces Foundation who's mission is supporting injured troops & mil families & those w/ PTSD/TBI. It seems that Kurt has credited Patricia, her son and the very significant amount of time he spends involved with AFF as putting his life back on an even keel. Do I completely buy the transformation? No, I can't say that I do, but I have noted a dramatic difference in his general public demeanor since he left Penske and started dating Patricia. His claims that the many Veterans he has encountered through AFF may actually have some validity. Not sure that I'll be rooting FOR him at Indy, but I probably won't be rooting against him either. |
