On the whole the race should be renamed the Snoozeyard 400. A combination of changes to the car, the track and the schedule (drivers play it safe so close to the cut-off for the chase) have made this race a follow the leader spectacular.

That being said, Jeff Gordon had the car to beat all day long so the best man won. The crowd was mighty pleased.
