In Indiana:Involuntary Manslaughter – Indiana Code § 35-42-1-4
Under the law, you could be charged with involuntary manslaughter if you have killed another person while committing or attempting to commit a Class C felony, Class D felony or Class A misdemeanor that inherently poses a risk of serious bodily injury. Unlike voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter must involve an unintentional killing.
That said, I have no idea how the laws are written in NY.
