My guess is he'll take a year off and come back as a part timer ala Mark Martin. Just like Richard Petty said when questioned on why he hasn't retired that it's not like he can go in his backyard and get in a race car like he could if he was a golfer. When done professionally, you're done period. He's had some physical issues and I'm sure he misses a family life type of routine but I really won't be surprised to see him in one-off races in a year or so. He's only 44 years old.
