WTHR (channel 13, the local NBC affiliate in Indy) promoted a human interest story with John talking to the current voice of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and local sports guy, Dave Calabro, about John having Stage 4 colon cancer.

But, the link goes nowhere and the only mention of this I can find on Google refers to this now-defunct article.
