I don't know if I'm wrong to think this but, I can't help thinking that JA would be rooting for a NASCAR team. I went through the list from https://www.racing-reference.info/driver/John_Andretti, which I just posted on as a separate thread. My intention was to root for the team that worked with JA earliest in his career and, I think ironically, the first team that still exists from those early career days is Richard Petty Motorsports. Can't say that it wouldn't have been cool to root for a Hagan/Kranefuss/Yarborough team but, that not being a possibility, I'm quite happy to root for RPM. Initially I had thought that it was somehow appropriate that another driver from a heritage-rich racing family was at the helm of the #43 but, again, that's not actually the case. No matter, he drives a Chevrolet - enough said.

Of course, he could be driving a Model T out there I'll still be thinking of JA every lap as I cheer on Bubba.
