Getting back to Daniel's original post, things will be different for humans and all other creatures once construction/destruction gets underway.
Unfortunately what we call "progress" often results in less plants and animals, and diminishing areas of biodiversity in this endangered semi-deciduous tropical forest. Expect to see more erosion and runoff from roadcuts as well. I guess the goal is to go faster.
Enjoy the lush greenery, flowering trees and occasional coati crossing while it lasts... and please plant trees, flowers and shrubs for wildlife wherever you can!
