Re: No need for health certificate importing DOGS?
I just flew in one week ago, and nothing in that article is true--at least not in Puerto Vallarta. I had bedding in the two kennels, and nobody even looked at it at the vet office in the airport. They wanted not only the certificate of health with proof of rabies and parasite treatment, but they were also very picky about how the form was filled out. For example, my vet put on the certificate that the dogs had been treated for external and internal parasites, but they wanted to know the brand name of the products used, saying that needed to be on the certificate. Luckily I had the receipt for those products, so I got through. The dogs were never removed from their kennels. The people in front of me in line from Canada were almost not allowed to enter with their dogs because their vet hadn't put her license number on the certificate. They told me they had used the same vet for years for their dogs' health certificates and had never had a problem. Not so this time! Their dogs were never examined either. Maybe it's different at different airports. This was my experience just a week ago!
