Many of you know Mateo has degrees in journalism, political science, lovin’, and flirtin’, but you might not realize he has PhD’s in Thanksgingology and the Saladtonogists named him “Salad Guy to Watch in 2019.” Read on!
Thanksgiving at Crocodile Bar
We have a few final spots available to enjoy our Thanksgiving buffet of turkey, mashed potatoes, ribs, shrimp pasta, vegetables and plenty of desserts. Please make your reservations today (Wednesday) to enjoy Mateo’s favorite holiday at 6 p.m. Thursday. Just like Mateo’s mom, we offer seconds. And unlike the Oxxo, the Crocodile Bar has less of carbon footprint and does not send any kickbacks to far-away corporations.
Super Salads! Soup and Salad!
Our first customers Monday and Tuesday gave us great reviews of our new salad bar. Come check us out daily* from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Belen has worked hard at providing an incredible array of options to make the ultimate salad bar.
Daily = Today, Friday and everyday except Thanksgiving. Mateo will start the salad bar after Thanksgiving next year. But it really is open today, Wednesday, Nov. 27, so come check us out.
The most interesting bar in the world
Some of you might be too young to remember this, but when Mateo lived north of the border, he discovered a tasty beverage called Dos Equis. A few folks older than Mateo last year asked him if Crocodile Bar could carry XX. A few more folks asked Mateo about the rentals down the beach instead of Mateo’s rentals. Mateo preferred the beer requests. In other words, Crocodile Bar now proudly carries Dos XX Lager. Stay thirsty, my friends.
Does your bar and cafe offer Spanish lessons?
Laura from Cafe du Calcetin and Mateo have been so proud of the turnout and enthusiasm of the students showing up for Spanish classes. These drop-in classes geared to beginners-to-intermediate have been a hit and we welcome you to join us at 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Classes cost 100 pesos per class or 400 pesos for a week. Call it a donation if that helps on your taxes.
Breakfast buffet, every day
You know it, you love it, you can’t live without it: Thanks to those of you who have enjoyed our breakfast buffet on the beach this year. Thanks to Laura and Roberto from Cafe Du Calcetin for providing the best coffee in town to go with the best breakfast in town. Thanks to my publicist for the modesty lessons. Daily breakfast buffet, Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-11 a.m., 90 pesos; Sunday breakfast buffet, 10 a.m. to noon, 120 pesos. Beverages extra, por favor.
Our long national nightmare is over
Thanks to all the lovers of white wine and Pacifico beer for their patience with us. Starting tonight, barring climate change or the impeachment of the U.S. president, we should have both in stock for the rest of the season.
LSU the real No. 1
Sure, some stuffy suits claim the team from Ohio is better, but we all know the Tigers have more quality victories this year. In other American football news, the New Orleans Saints are 9-2. The Saints did not get a chance to defeat the Riders this season, but they beat the Seattle Seahawks, so that’s close enough, right?
Juanito makes his debut at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2. He will play distinct shows on a rotating basis featuring jazz, reggae, funk and music in Spanish. Come enjoy his wonderful music at 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and some super mellow tunes at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Chava: 10:30 a.m. Sunday
6 p.m. Tuesday
Michel: Coming soon. Hopefully Dec. 12
Starting Friday, it’s OK to say “Merry Christmas” again. Oxxo might sell hot dogs at 3 a.m., but it doesn’t offer any cool T-shirts with a crocodile logo. We do. 300 pesos for the white shirts or tank tops with the color logo. 120 pesos for the pink, beige, lime, coral (fancy for orange), and light blue shirts with the black logo.
Stop by the bar in person
firstname.lastname@example.org Important: If you don’t get a reply within 24 hours, please try sending morse code from the cool sailboat parked out front or just stop at the bar
