I went and got arugula, huge leaves, it was bitter and hot, but I stripped it off the stems and steamed it. So it's similar to kale.. Not bitter at all when cooked.
I'm giving my food scraps to my neighbors, Maria and Arturo. They have quite a family of chickens, and that's another good way to use them up. Hoping to be able to buy eggs from her some day, though she feeds a big family of grandchildren.
