"He said many mask-wearers may feel a “false sense of security” and
can easily end up transferring any virus droplets on the surface
of their mask onto their hands or the surfaces in their home when
they take off the mask.
“If you wear a mask in the community, the next thing you realize
it's on the table beside you or it will be under your chin when
you answer the phone. Distancing and washing these are the ways to
stop [the virus] not (to) wear a mask all the time,” he said.
Handling a mask, however, is critical in their effectiveness,
he said, including how the covering is removed and later treated,
“If you wear a mask and then fiddle with it off and on, you
increase your risk of infection. The SARS-CoV-2 virus may be
found on the outer surface of your mask and may last there
for some time," he said in a statement.
Cloth masks should be put immediately after use into a dish
with soap and water or into a plastic bag and then hands washed
or disinfected immediately.
Personally I got a mask from the wonderful Mary Jo (thank you)
but still have not worn it.
I want to do some research into the psychological resistance to
wearing a mask. I know we are herd animals and that applies
even when you acknowledge that fact. Is it mostly culture, because
it is something new, vanity, apathy or the authority problem?
Seems to me the biggest advance in reducing the spread of
CAVID 19 would come from the public seeing their leaders
