solar system that I could manipulate to understand things.
Is that Venus in the sky and (reflected in our bay) each morning.
How can that happen as we are each rotating at different speeds on
our own axis and careening at different speeds around the sun through
Using Solar System Scope go to February 2021 then rotate the solar
system so you are looking at the edge. Now manipulate it so
the earth is in front of the sun (closest to you). Go forward a month
and readjust so the earth is closest to you again and you will see
that Venus is behind the sun, in retrograde, we can't see it.
And then there is the moon going through its phases, while still
in a similar position with the sun each day?
It takes the moon 30 days to rotate the earth, each day it moves
1/30 of the way. So on the new moon it is on the horizon at sunset.
The next day it is 1/30 higher in the sky at the same time, the next
day 1/30th more until after seven days it is over head at sunset.

I know that things are right with the world when I can see Orion,
but why is it visible in a similar positions both in Anacortes, WA and
Don't know that one but you could probably find the answer using
Solar System Scope, it takes a bit to learn but is really fun.
I should have spent more time absorbing information from
