All total we collected $41,090 pesos, provided 80 meals (29 of them being for 15 people, 26 meals provided for 12, and 25 meals provided for 8), 37 aqua frescas, and 21 snacks.
The balance left when the retÚn was pulled was $10, 050 which was divided among the single mothers in town to help pay their rent and electricity bills.
The contribution of foods to the guards at the entrance to town was incredible! I can't list all those who helped, but you know who you are and you are greatly appreciated. Okay - I have to thank Lee D. for the 48 dozen cookies she baked for all the guards, every day - with the exception of the last week when they got 3 dozen cookies a week when she was stocking up for The Frozen Buddha so we could all have some!
Thank you, everyone, for your contribution - I can't help but believe it provided the guards with the stamina to continue to protect our town from the virus.
Please continue to stay safe, stay healthy, and stay sane.
