Greetings in the New Year!

Thank you so much to everyone who expressed gratitude and appreciation for the efforts on recycling. It feels good to be recognized and thanked. As some mentioned, I think awareness has been raised through this project, and with the new energy of the Green Team, word is spreading to more people in the community.

Not surprisingly, cleanup of the lot is moving slowly, especially with the holidays. As I wrote in the last post, my involvement will be done when most of the recyclables and garbage is hauled off, and the lot is fumigated. I imagine the town will continue to use the Las Hormigas site as a drop off for curbside pickups, so mixed waste will still be showing up there. The next phase is up to the Ayuntamiento and anyone else that may want to step up.
