Canada is doing better on the vaccines part, still looking at November before 70% vaccinated.
That is vaccinated for COVID 19, chances are slim that will cover all the variants that are popping up, That means another span of time until everyone is truly vaccinated, if the availability does not change again. Not to mention that those vaccinations will have to be repeated every 6 months or so because the rest of the world is not even close to being vaccinated.
Oh well, its a big price to pay but sure beats temporarily lifting patent protections, that may anger the pharmaceuticals to the point they won't help at all next pandemic. /s (close sarcasm)
Perhaps its time we found a more compassionate and less predatory way to get the medicines we need.
It may take a lot of pain but eventually people are going to say ENOUGH, we want this to end! The TRIPS waiver will finally be adopted and the planet will get the vaccines it needs at the price it can afford, a couple of years late but what is time, its only people dying.
I for one hope there is blow back that makes it glaringly clear how far Big Pharma has moved from being a provider of medicines to a creator of pain and misery.
