Today I went to Citibanamex in Melaque to withdraw money to pay the rent tomorrow. When I was in the ATM "lobby," an employee emerged from the interior. So I asked her if the maximum daily ATM withdrawal limit for clients is still $6,000 pesos. She explained that the maximum withdrawal limit per transaction is still the same, but the maximum daily limit is now $9,000 so I could withdraw $6,000 and then another $3,000. "Or any combination equaling $9,000 in two transactions?" I inquired. "Yes," she said.
I didn't think to ask her if the limit at a teller window is the same, but I'd guess that Jane's experience is the new norm. The bank is clearly trying to reduce the number of staff as well as clients inside, so making the daily limit at both the ATM and the teller window would serve that purpose.
