The state of Jalisco has new restrictions going into effect on Friday due to the high case counts. The restrictions probably won’t affect us much here in our small town but are another sign of Covid’s prevalence here.
Medical resources in town are very very limited and don’t always follow main stream medical standards. Many locals and foreigners choose to seek all of their medical care outside of the community. Covid testing is not available here, but in Melaque, a 20-30 min cab ride away.
My understanding is that this wave is going to last through February. I would advise any friends of mine to visit a different time. Most cases I have heard of have been mild, but not all (I haven’t personally heard about unvaxxed cases yet).
