It signifies a "balance point ", an equality of day and night, light and dark.
For most "ancient peoples " (the indigenous people of all the world)this day, and 3 other days, Spring equinoxe, and the two solstices, Mark the natural divisions of the year into four distinct seasons. These days were, and are, considered "special " or "holy ". All over the earth, in many different cultures, ceremonies and celebrations are enacted to maintain our connection to NATURE as it presents itself.
So, just a reminder for us all to take a moment, each in our own way, to offer healing and loving thoughts to ease the divisions and intolerance so rampant in our current world.
There will be an attempt, on the part of some of us (any who feel drawn), to gather on the beach, attempt to burn a fire, share some thoughts and prayers, make some music. The place will be the beach where the "burning wood " gathering occurs,
a little past Coco's bar. Time any time from 6:00 pm on. If weather permits (no hurricanes, earth quakes, or torrential rains). If we're able to see the sunset, it will be directly over the equator.
