If you fly down you can slowly recover that fee by requesting a refund from the airlines on the tourist tax they add to your ticket price. I just send them a screen shot of my boarding pass and a copy of my resident card and they eventually refund the fee. I understand some airlines will refund before you fly but I haven’t figured out how that works.
