TLDR - just don't read it.
Why the article is clickbait bullshit
1: Don’t tell the owner what they “should” or “shouldn’t” do. Just don’t.
As a restaurant owner you are going to have all sorts of people eat at your restaurant. Some of them may be world famous for things like space utiliztion, seating arrangement, interior design. Are you going to refuse their suggestions? Its not that people shouldn't make suggestions it that they should do it in a gracious way e.g. ask if they are open to suggestions? If they are busy probably not, if they are just hanging around maybe so, it doesn't hurt to ask. You could also make the suggestion by email etc.
2 - Show Them the Money.
Some people tip good, others not so much. Personally I tip big when I get good service and good food and less so when i don't. Its not a consistent thing, its a way of communicating and important feedback for them.
3 - The Language Thing ....This is a restaurant, not a language school,
F##k you, the whole country is a language school. I am trying, if I am not doing so well or they are very busy its up to them to graciously guide me to their desired result.
4 - My Way. On a special diet? Expect to wait a little longer
True but also Common sense.
5 - Loose Fingers.Think your meal wasn’t as perfect as it coulda/shoulda been? Don’t head for your computer; instead, ask for the owner or manager and politely explain your issue.
Depends on how crazy busy the restaurant is. Communication is vital, especially when done with common courtesy. If not communicated right then perhaps another time or different way e.g. email etc.
6 - Patience is a Virtue. Don’t like to wait for your meal? Simple solution — don’t go at busy times.
pretty much common sense.
7 - Groups and Parties. Going out with a group of four or more? Special occasion? Call ahead. Make a reservation.
Good suggestion
8 - Dogs. Why, why, why
This is Mexico and has places like La Manzanilla where dogs lying around a restaurant is common, they usually belong to the owner of that restaurant. People can bring dogs, but should not bring them if they make life harder for others. Again, common sense / courtesy.
9 - Water In Mexico, Why do they bring you a bottle instead of just a glass?
Writer is getting near the bottom of the list of things to talk about. I never knew it was an issue worth discussing. I don't drink water so I don't know much about this one.
10 - Last Call.
Its easy to miss a cue when your having fun. Its up to the personnel at the restaurant to let you know the best they know how when its time to leave. Its an art.
