Using this photo and many others I seriously doubt they are re constructed. This is how it was found.
But the bones are also bound together enough to be picked up! As shown in David's photo.
Edit: But David's photo looks much different than the other photos of Puffer fish, more organized or simple or .... and its a photo taken over glass, so not in its natural environment. Perhaps that one is reconstructed?
Edit 2: I am saying that David's photo is Puffer Fish skeleton art, it does not represent what the skeleton of a puffer fish looks like when it is full of air (similar to this Porcupine Fish)

So, where did the rest of the fish go? Obviously birds did not eat it, the bones would be all over the place. Could be ants but when is the last time you saw ants all over a decaying fish?
