'Looking for Jane' may be available through your BC library for free as an ebook. You could sign it out and read it using Overdrive Libby or Adobe EPUB on your MacBook or other device. Do you have a library card? If you have one and haven't set up an account, I could help you. Special accommodations can be made for friends!
My library has it as an express book for 7 days that I could possibly check out, if still available on Monday after arriving. I could lend you my iPad if you are a fairly quick reader. It has about 400 pages.
I have also placed an ebook copy on hold (as a long term borrow) but am far back in the waiting line!
