Re: 2nd shark attack
The first ceviche I ever ate was from a stand at the old Pemex station in Melaque and it was made from shark. In the 70's when I went out with the local pescadores, they set nets made of rope with large openings and in the morning they would pull in a couple of big sharks. When they cleaned the hammerheads, sometimes there were babies. After having breakfast we would sometimes go diving in the same places where they caught the sharks, but I never saw any. Only once I saw a shark (leopard) at Los Frailes, cruising alongside a school of fish. It didn't seem interested in me, but I swam back to the boat all the same. I've seen a couple of nurse sharks and once a whale shark but that was many years ago. There used to be shark fishermen that would anchor their boats in Tenacatita Bay and put up flags for how many sharks they caught that day. I don't think sharks intentionally go after people. At least I hope not as I don't want to give up swimming in the ocean!
