Thanks for the post Robbie. I’ve always been fascinated with that structure having first viewed it in 1995 . I was told at the time that there was a boiler explosion that dealt knoll when it was hanging on by a shoestring . I also was told that the reason for the collapsing of this concrete structure was largly due to the gross mistake of using salty beachsand instead of freshwater river sand . The beach sand is round , while the river sand has sharp edges and makes the concrete stronger . I’m only repeating second hand knowledge so it’s veracity is in question
