Sorry state of affairs on most of the pueblo's beach area lately. It has been a long time since I witnessed such wanton destruction of a town's primary tourist draw. The last time was when they built a freeway between Sandpoint Idaho and the lake it sits on. Sadly I helped design the road. And I have been troubled by that memory since. |
But at least in that instance the community wanted traffic out of town and were willing to make the trade off. Did someone in our Ejido or Pueblo administration ask for the beach and lagoon to be trashed? I have a hard time believing anyone here, a local leader, would do such a thing. Just did not happen.
However, they were giving away motos and other sh-t, so who knows.
Since I am just an permanent resident and not a citizen of Mexico, I am not supposed to ever get involved in politics, in any way. So understand, this is not a political comment. If the Governor of Jalisco ordered this ruination of our best local asset, the best beach for miles, then he is an asshole. An arrogant piece of sh-t.
Two weeks before our biggest crowds typically arrive, what a nice X-mas present. I can only hope nature has time to recover the beach before Semana Santa.
enough rant. rojo
