At this point, it is not necessary, but she would like to be prepared should it become necessary. My experience is recent that over 60 is not acceptable. Blood and platelet transfusions are very expensive. I saw that there is a great need for people to donate. The blood supply is heavily guarded. The whole thing is not great at all. People are paid decently to donate.

Sorry, I did not answer your question.....The people from the blood donor clinic told me that info about over 60's being not acceptable. That was in Colima.
