People tend to think corporations were not powerful back when the Polio vaccine was developed, here is a long but interesting interview with Jonas Salk from 1976 that says otherwise (even though he is very careful with his words). Or if you choose to see the bullshit that they went through with AIDS there is the online movie called And The Band Played ON. It only took 10 years and the Bayh-Dole Act, PEPFAR, and the Doha Declaration to get past the corporations on that one, we are only on year one with COVID.
