Intestinal Virus

Can anyone confirm if intestinal gastroenteritis (virus) is going around? It seems like wife and I have it. WebMD says antibiotics don’t work. You just have to let it run it’s course

Yes, I have had this type of virus! Am fine after 5 days of feeling crappy, but did not have a fever!!

Hi: We've been coming here for 14 seasons, and we've probably had intestinal complaints in about half of those. It's usually from something we ate or drank. Dra. Martha at the Pharmacia on Maria Asuncion has a cocktail of stuff that will fix you right up, if you're so inclined. Some intestinal infections are cleared up by antibiotics, BTW. Sometimes these complaints are caused by parasites and need to be diagnosed properly. We see Dr. Ernesto Real in Melaque for this. We've had to have "things" analyzed at the lab.

You'll probably find that Dra. Martha's treatment will do it though, or you can wait it out. I'm sure many people will have other ideas as well.

I do recommend you do your own research, (I'm not a doctor.) but my opinion of WebMD is very low. Try mayoclinic.com for example.

Thanks everyone for your good replies. I am better now - after 3 days of malaise, low- grade fever and diarrhea.
I used aspirine to knock down the fever, took some immodium type stuff for the runs, slept a lot and barely ate anything.
And now it’s gone👍👍😃🥳🥳

Sounds like what I had, but after 24 hrs I stumbled over to my tried & true cure for food poisoning (home grown umeboshi) and it worked decisively and within minutes

So sorry I don't have extra to pass out. But, since it's a cultured product, maybe other cultured products might help-- sauerkraut, kimchee, kefir, kombucha, yogurt,etc but , must have the live cultures.
