permanent visa fees Posted by Loulou on November 23, 2022, 3:59 pm Hello La Manzanilla message group! I am addressing poeple with a permanent residence. I have a question about the fees for a permanent residence visa. According to my information, it should cost 5,776 pesos for the visa. Is it every year or once in a life time? Thanks ahead

Re: permanent visa fees Posted by Neal on November 24, 2022, 10:49 am, in reply to "Re: permanent visa fees" If you fly down you can slowly recover that fee by requesting a refund from the airlines on the tourist tax they add to your ticket price. I just send them a screen shot of my boarding pass and a copy of my resident card and they eventually refund the fee. I understand some airlines will refund before you fly but I haven’t figured out how that works.

Re: permanent visa fees Posted by Erin S on November 24, 2022, 12:09 pm, in reply to "Re: permanent visa fees" To Neal's question, if you book via a customer service representative and at that time, tell them you are a resident, the ticket cost calculation will be adjusted accordingly. According to their site, you can advise them any time prior to the flight of you status and you will be given a refund. Just don't try after the fact as there is nothing they can do at that time.

Just curious if you have a reservation, how do you contact the airline to let them know you are a resident of Mexico?

It's not the end of the world but enough for a nice dinner in town. To answer Neal, I sent them a copy of our visas and they noted it on my Westjet file, so they have a record of it.

I just reached out to American Airlines about my upcoming trip. They said they could not refund the fee without canceling my flight. They will however refund the fee retroactively after the flight. I guess every airline has its own policies.

I thought I would get an email notification for your respond I normally fly with Aero Mexico. Does it work? The final answer is it is a one time fee for permanent residency visa.
