People love novelty and sometimes we forget the old in favour of the new. We've had wonderful dinners lately at Wings Lord and El Cato and wanted to share the critiques. Wings Lord is close to the jardin, just left of the church with the ocean to your back. Lalo is the chef and served our wings as well. He was very cheerful and the food was outstanding. My husband had the BBQ Mango wings and I had the buffalo. Excellent flavour, great fries and nice presentation, with peaceful Mexican music in the background; not fancy but clean and delicious and reasonable. El Cato is accessible from the beach or the beach street pretty much opposite the Ejido office, Helping Hands and near the fish co-op. Toes in the sand at this casual beach restaurant and no music required as the waves provide the background ambience. We always order Camerones Tropicales which is coconut shrimp. We've eaten this in many vacation locales and this is the best we've ever had. Large shrimp, crispy and perfectly cooked and accompanied by flavourful rice and salad and mango chutney. It never disappoints. I just wanted to mention these restaurants to old-timers who know them and newbies who perhaps don't.

Sorry, I don't know their days of operation but it is only at dinner time not lunch as far as I know. I'm sure you can't go wrong Wed-Sun. Other menu items: we were only going for wings so didn't pay much attention to other items. I saw a hamburger and they also do shrimp but I'm sure there are other things as well. Although it is a small restaurant and kitchen so the menu is not extensive. What they do with wings they do really well.
