Leaf cutter ants Posted by Carol on February 8, 2023, 5:12 pm Does anyone have suggestions? They are really a plague this year. Please post suggestions of types of plants to grow that leaf cutters don't eat. Of course, we know about the insecticides that are available. Are there also other strategies (IE, does a band of grease on the tree trunk deter them from climbing it?) Or what else might work?

If you do not get rid of the leaf cutter ants, they will build huge mounds around your property and eat and eat and grow and grow. At my place, the leaf cutters ants had eaten a whole hedge of bougainvilleas in 2 nights! This product, Trumpa, worked like a charm for me and they loved this stuff! They impressively took a whole pound of these pellets in about 2h30 last year (video here: ). Never came back....
